Race Day Info

The Perseverance Trail Run is a community-driven, grassroots trail running event held in Cumberland, BC. The race has been organized by volunteers and supported by local sponsoring businesses, since 2003, with the goal of raising funds for the Cumberland Community Forest Society to purchase and protect the Cumberland Forest.

Schedule of Events

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26
LOCATION: FOVEO RUNNING,
442 – A DUNCAN AVE., COURTENAY

OPTIONAL BIB PICK UP & SOCIAL
4:00pm – 7:00pm

Treats, pre-race vibes, mingle with the organizers, and get your bib early! Avoid the big line-ups on race day and sleep in a little!

You can only pick up your race bib or your children’s. Everyone must present ID over 19+ (no celebrity status, please).

Please don’t send your partner or friend to pick up their bib. They can get it on race morning; they have to be there for the race briefing anyway.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27
LOCATION: RACE CENTRAL, NO. 6 MINE PARK, CUMBERLAND

RACE BIB PICK UP
10:00am – 10:45am (not 10:46!) –
12km Bib Pick Up
10:00am – 11:15am (not 11:16!) – 3km / 6km Bib Pick Up
We must hardline this: If you have not picked up your bib by the deadline above, you will not be allowed to race. There are no exceptions as we have to provide start lists to official timing and Search & Rescue and need to keep the event timing on track. Please pick up at Foveo Running the day before if you are someone that often runs late or wants some breathing room!

GROUP WARM UP LEAD BY RUN TO BEER COMOX VALLEY
10:30am
Race smart and join us in a fun group warm-up before the race! This will be designed for all abilities to help get the blood flowing to increase performance and decrease risk of injury. If you skip this, just make sure you are at the start line on time!

MANDATORY PRE-RACE BREIFINGS
10:45am – 12km
11:15am – 3km/6km
This is when any last minute updates/changes are communicated, it will only take a few minutes. There’ll be time to use the washroom, etc. before the race.

RACE START TIMES
11:00am – 12km
11:30am – 6km
11:40am – 3km
We will do a little walking loop around the park to properly seed athletes in their appropriate place in the starting pack. Please ensure you are situated in the crowd based on your expected race time finish (faster at the front, slower at the back). This helps make the most enjoyable experience for all athletes while on the course.

FINISH LINE CHEERING
11:15am – 1:30pm
This is where everyone wants to be! Podium athletes are all expected to arrive around 11:50-12:05.

Post-race meal for racers is supplied by Perseverance Trail Run and Cumberland Community Forest Society. Spectators can enjoy the hot lunch by donation after all racers have passed.

Remember that our event is CUP FREE, so please bring your own cup to the event and let your entourage know.
